U20 Women National team forward Sylvia Kabene stared in St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana’s final win against Rines SS at the concluded Wakiso Region Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Fresh Dairy Games girls football.

Kabene grabbed a brace for St. Noa, with a goal at the opening of each halves to inspire her side to a sixth (6th ) Wakiso title.

The final filled with controversial incidents and poor conduct from the Rines technical team who protested every referee call was held on Sunday, the 14th April at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.

Rines through captain and a former St. Noa Patricia Nakato scored their consolation converted from the penalty mark after a hand incident by Nancy Mandela.

To reach the final, St. Noa won Watoto (Hope SS) Bira 2-0 in the semi-finals to storm final.

Imelda Kasemire and Sylvia Kabene scored a goal each for St. Noa to reach their seventh Wakiso final in seven attempts.

The Zana based school won AGRO-LINK by 5-1 in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile Rines SS eliminated Aiden College in a 3-0 semi-final win to book a final date with St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana.

Trinah Nakawuki and a brace from Lilian Nabukeera saw Rines progress to final.

In the quarter-finals, Rines SS won 02-00 over Kakungulu High School. Patricia Nakato Nanyanzi and Immaculate Odulu scored for Rines.

 

Forward Kabene was the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the top scorer. The speed Marchant scored 14 goals in eight games.

Yuko (Rines SS) was the tournament’s best goalkeeper. The custodian conceded only twice in the final against St. Noa.

St. Noa, Rines, Watoto and Aiden College will represent Wakiso Region at the forthcoming Fresh Dairy Games girls football championship later this month to be held in Ndejje.
