St. Mary’s Kitende 7-0 Light Academy

 

Defending champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende will face off with Light High School Seguku in this year’s Kitende zone football final of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys football Qualifiers for Wakiso Region.

Kitende eliminated Light Academy Seguku in a landslide 7-0 victory held on Monday, 25th March 2024 at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

Santos Agok scored a hat-trick and a goal from Useni Kizza, Steven Yiga, Olimi Nyarwa and Arafat Kakooza to inspire Kitende to an emphatic semi-final win.

The 2023 USSSA National and Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) champions stormed Semi-finals unbeaten.

In the process, Kitende garnered 15 points in five group stage before the semi-finals. They have so far scored 39 times and conceded none in the six games.

Meanwhile, Light High School Seguku outclassed Kajjansi Progressive coming from a goal down to win 3-1 in the semi-finals.

Emmanuel Kyabaggu scored an early lead for Kajjansi before Abedeen AbdulRahim levelled matters via a penalty goal following Piola Ariath’s foul play on Ali Isabirye.

Few minutes later, Ali Isabirye header sent Light High into a 2-1 lead towards the break.

Early in the closing stanza, Anorld Mugalu sealed the 3-1 victory with a powerful header as Light High School sailed through to book final date with Kitende.

The final will be played on Wednesday, 27th March at St. Mary’s Stadium – Kitende .
