The Buganda Kingdom school competitions for this year are set for kick/throw off at Kawanda Senior Secondary School in Wakiso District.

The four day tournament will attract over 40 schools from different parts of the Kingdom confirmed by registration to take part in the Primary and Secondary games.

The games will star on Friday 8th with the screening of players and an a highly anticipated opener in boys football between Janan School and host Kawanda SS shall seal day.

Buganda minister for Youth, Sports and Arts Ssalongo Robert Sserwanga will grace the opener.

The games will run to Sunday 10th  and the final will take place on Saturday, the 16th  March 2024.

Under the leadership of the Buganda Schools Sports Committee Chairperson Gerald Katamba, there was a pilot study at Kawanda SS where these competitions will be held.

“Kawanda SS was given hosting rights for these competitions due to its outstanding performance in the recent games.

Not like in the recent past, this year’s edition competitions are going to be very exciting due the fact that many different schools have joined and more games have been added”. Gerald Katamba

The head teacher Kawanda SS, Ahemd Bukenya Kamoga thanked the King of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi Kimera II for choosing Kawanda SS as the host for this edition.

“I’m thankful and grateful to King for granting us a chance to host this edition.

Kawanda SS staff is ready to welcome all the schools that will take part and be assured of good hospitality”. Ahemd Bukenya Kamoga the headteacher Kawanda SS.

The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga together with other Kingdom dignitaries will grace the finals on 16th at Kawanda SS.

Basketball, Football, Woodball, Volleyball, Handball all boys and girls, and Netball are the sports disciplines to be competed for this year.
