Four teams Mawokota, Buddu, Bulemezi and record champions Gomba sealed semi-final slots at the ongoing Masaza Cup.

Mawokota Ssaza team beat resilient Buvuma by 1-0 at Buwama Grounds to book a semi-final slot against Bulemezi.

82 into the game, Joseph Kayondo scored a hard shot from a close range inside the penalty area following a loose defending moment from the Islanders defence.

Mawokota advance on a 1-0 aggregate score following a goalless draw in the first leg.

Bulemezi finally sealed a semi-final slot following their 2-1 win over Buwekula in Mubende.

George Masembe grabbed a brace for Bulemezi whilst Sharafah Mukiibi scored Buwekula’s consolation.

In the other quarter-final, record champions Gomba beat Ssingo 1-0 to advance to semi-finals on a 4-1 aggregate score.

Forward Kenneth Kimera scored the only goal of the return leg at Mityana Ssaza Grounds.

Gomba won the first leg 3-1 at Kabulasoke PTC play ground. Allan Oyirwoth scored a brace whilst Kenneth Kimera scored one.

However, Kyadondo set a precedent and boycotted their return leg tie against Buddu following their claimed unfair treatment by the organizers annually.

The sparking point was Kyadondo’s cancelled three goals in their first leg. They (Kyadondo) put the organizing committee in spotlight to explain Buddu’s untouched pampering and unsporting acts annually.
