FT: St. Lawrence 3-1 Nkumba

St. Lawrence University have eased past Nkumba University in group D opener of the 2023 University Football League championship.

The game was held on Wednesday evening, the 13th September at Kavule Grounds.

St. Lawrence University through Osman Arafat Kembo, Michael Abura and Innocent Matenga scored to seal a 3-1 victory .

Abbey Kavuma scored Nkuba’s consolation as the Entebbe road side suffered a heavy defeat.

Osman Arafat Kembo opened the scoring in the 8th minute to ensure a 1-0 half time stanza.

In the 52nd minute, Michael Abura extended the lead to 2-0 before Innocent Matenga sealed the victory in 58th minute.

Late into the game in the 83rd minute, Abbey Kavuma scored Nkuba’s consolation as the scored turned 3-1 at the end of the game.

This year’s Pepsi University football league kicked off yesterday 12th September at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkonzi Grounds.

Uganda Martyrs University beat visitors Bugema University 3-1 in the official season opener.

Ivan Agambire and Akbar Ssentongo with a brace, were on target for the Martyrs whilst Dennis Kimuli scored a consolation for the visitors Bugema.

The league returns tomorrow evening Thursday, the 14th September 2023.

Bishop Stuart University will host newbies ISBAT University in Mbarara.
