Uganda Cranes increased their chances of making it to the 2022 Fifa World Cup after completing a double-header victory against Rwanda.

Fahad Bayo again scored Uganda’s only goal as they won 1-0 against the Amavubi Stars at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Sunday.

Uganda Cranes had an 11th minute opportunity from Isaac Muleme flying across the goal but they were unable to convert it.

Moses Waiswa came closer again in the 20th minute but he missed from close range.

Uganda Cranes finally found the back of the net through Aziz Fahad Bayo who headed in Isaac Muleme’s deflected corner kick.

Cranes almost doubled through Yunus Sentamu but his free kick went slightly over the bar.

Uganda remained second in group E with eight points two behind table leaders Mali who also registered a 1-0 win against Kenya.

Uganda needs to win their remaining two games against Kenya and Mali if they are to make to the final qualification hurdle.
