Uganda Cranes registered their maiden win following a 1-0 win against Rwanda on Thursday evening at Stade De Kigali Nyamirambo in Rwanda.

Fahad Bayo scored the only goal for Uganda in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualification game.

Uganda Cranes took the lead in the 41st minute through Bayo who got a ball in the box after Rwanda failed to clear away Muleme’s free kick to score Uganda Cranes first goal of the FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign.

Steven Mukwala had a golden opportunity to double Uganda’s lead but he miss-kicked the ball inside ball inside the goal area.

In the 54th minute, Rwanda had a long ball intended for Meddie Kagere but it was well dealt with by Charles Lukwago in Uganda Cranes’ goal.

In the 63rd minute, a yellow card was shown to Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho meaning he will now miss the Sunday game at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

In the 67th minute, Moses Waiswa had a successful elastic trick but he shot the side netting from the left flank.

In the last ten minutes Rwanda intensified raids towards the Uganda Cranes’ goal as they were desperate to find the equalizer.

Following a win, Uganda has now moved to five points from three games played so far.
