The 2021/2022 season of the Stanbic Uganda Cup has been launched om Monday January 10th at Fufa House in Mengo with draws for the round of 64.

The tournament will go back to involve teams from the third, fourth and fifth divisions as well as non-league teams after last season’s edition which involved only 32 teams.

The regional preliminaries were successfully concluded with 37 teams progressing to the round 64 from the 249 teams participated.

These will join 11 teams from the Big League and  16 teams in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Football as we all know is not just a game. it is a very important economic activity that engages thousands of youth across the country and millions. And as Fufa we are glad to be continuing our partnership with our sponsors,” Fufa Vice President and Chairperson Competitions Committee Hon. Florence Nakiwala said.

This season’s prize money has been increased from UGX 166 million last season to UGX 179 million with the winner taking home UGX 50 million while runners up will pocket 25 million.
