The stage is set for an unforgettable night of celebration, as Ugandan football’s finest gather to recognize and reward excellence in football.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially unveiled the MTN FUFA Awards 2024, marking a triumphant return of the esteemed ceremony after a four-year hiatus.

The launch ceremony, themed “Celebrating Football Heroes, Inspiring Future Stars,” was held at Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday, setting the stage for a grand celebration of Ugandan football’s finest.

 

The awards ceremony, now in its 7th edition, will take place on May 30, 2025, at the same venue, honoring exceptional players, coaches, clubs, and other key contributors to the beautiful game in Uganda.

This year’s edition will exclusively recognize outstanding performances achieved in 2024.

The MTN FUFA Awards will feature 14 categories, including Male Player of the Year, Female Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Fans of the Year, among others.

A new category, the MTN Media Personality of the Year, has been introduced, adding another layer of excitement to the event.

The launch ceremony was attended by the FUFA Awards Committee Chairman, members of the FUFA Executive Committee, FUFA Deputy CEO, sponsors MTN Nile Special and Nivana, football legends, and distinguished stakeholders.

The MTN FUFA Awards categories include:

– Male Player of the Year

– Female Player of the Year

– Male Best XI Category

– Female Best XI Category

– Male Coach of the Year

– Women Football Coach of the Year

– FUFA Goal of the Year

– Upcoming Talent Award

– Beach Soccer Player of the Year

– Futsal Player of the Year

– FUFA Member Associations’ Award

– Fans of the Year (FUFA Competitions)

– FUFA Presidential Award

– Fans’ Ugandan Foreign-based Player of the Year

– Best Squad of a Particular Year

– MTN Media Personality of the Year (New Category)
