“We are set for the final due this Friday,” said Hakim Kasirye, Hamz Cup coordinator.

“This year, 40 teams took part in the competition that is fully sponsored by Hajji Hamis Kiggundu.

We shall not only reward the best teams but also the team that will bring more fans as well as individual prizes for outstanding players.”

The tournament has provided a platform for young talent to shine, with many players using the Hamz Cup as a springboard to secure spots in top-flight and Big League divisions.

Last year’s edition saw Block G emerge victorious, taking home Shs20m in prize money.

This year’s prize pot has doubled to Shs100m, with the runners-up set to receive Shs25m, third place Shs15m, and fourth place Shs10m.

The Hamz Cup has become a highlight of the football calendar, attracting teams from markets, taxi parks, and arcades across the city.

With the stadium expected to be buzzing with excitement, the scene is set for a thrilling finale to the tournament.
